Trigger
Last updated
What is a trigger in a GoHighLevel workflow?
A trigger is the event that enrols a contact into a GoHighLevel workflow, for example a form submitted, an appointment booked, a tag added or an opportunity changing stage. Filters on the trigger narrow which events count, and all filters must be true for the contact to enter.
How is it used?
- Starting lead follow-up when a specific form is submitted.
- Starting reminders when an appointment is booked on a specific calendar.
- Starting an internal alert when an opportunity reaches a stage.
What usually goes wrong?
- The wrong trigger type for the real event, such as Contact Created for a contact who already existed.
- A filter pointing at a form or calendar that was deleted and recreated.
- Re-entry switched off, so returning contacts are ignored.
